across its split levels.

A Tale of Two Floors

The Uncommon Side of Batam

The architectural direction of the space shifts dramatically between levels, making it highly versatile depending on your mood:

The Lower Floor (Brutalist Architecture): Stripped-back, raw, and minimalist. The ground level features a striking brutalist design that sets a focused, modern tone, making it exceptionally suited for productive "Work From Cafe" (WFC) sessions.

The Upper Floor (Mid-Century Japandi): Moving upstairs reveals an immediate change in texture and warmth. Influenced by Mid-Century Japandi aesthetics, the top floor features softer elements, low lighting, and comfortable seating arrangements tailored for slower, longer conversations.

For Something Refreshing

What makes odd stand out is its commitment to pushing boundaries on Batam where cafes can easily blend together. By creating two completely distinct atmospheres under one roof, it successfully bridges the gap between a focused daytime productivity zone and an intimate, moody evening retreat.

If you are looking for a space that values intentional design and creative culinary, odd is a highly refreshing addition to Batam’s cafe scene that demands a visit.

Best For: Specialty coffee, Work from cafe sessions, catch up spots, and dinner.

Mains & New Creations

  • 72h Slow Cooked Brisket: Features a firmer, crispy sourdough slice topped with tender slow-cooked beef brisket. It carries smoky, and beefy notes, cut through by a bright sour sauce that can feel slightly overpowering for some palates.

  • Grilled Chicken w/ Truffle Sauce: A highly tender, flavor-infused chicken thigh. It comes served with two distinct sauces: a savory, peppery brown sauce and a rich, nutty green sauce that balance the dish perfectly.

  • Truffle Cream Pasta: A lighter, refined variation of a standard cream pasta. It maintains a milky consistency without becoming overly heavy or cloying, ending with a gentle truffle aftertaste.

  • XO Fried Rice: An addictive plate featuring smoky duck breast tossed in a hot wok to produce wok hei. It delivers a well-rounded savory-sweet flavor profile with a pleasant hint of spice.

An Explorative Escape From the Usual

  • Tiramisu: A sweeter dessert that leans heavily toward chocolate flavors. It features a coarser cream texture interspersed with savory bits that add a unique contrast to the dish.

To End with Sweet Bites

  • Cold Brew On Tap Midnight Currant: A clean beverage with a clarity that drinks almost like tea, enhanced by vibrant berry notes for a refreshing finish.

  • Dirty Blanc: A sweeter, milk-forward coffee choice with a lighter espresso profile, crowned with a thick, zesty cream layer.

  • Ceremonial Matcha Gokugoku Latte: A highly balanced matcha beverage showcasing a nutty, milky body. It brings out a gentle umami character alongside a very subtle, natural sweetness.
